Thursday, 9/25:    Students take the Unit Pre-Test on Schoology; then discuss. Then watch this one on John Smith and Jamestown and this one on the Mayflower and

 

Friday: completed reading and questions on Smith and Bradford.

Monday, 9/29: Begin Anne Bradstreet poems questions working in pairs. Complete "To My Dear and Loving Husband" questions by tomorrow. 

Tuesday: Complete the Anne Bradstreet "Upon the Burning of Our House" questions in pairs.

Wednesday: Quiz on AB; students who miss the quiz must submit a formal paragraph answering the question, how are these poems typical of "Puritans?"

One-day graded discussion on AB poems. Students must have 7 points by the end of the day; students who are absent may write a formal paragraph answering the question, how are Bradstreet's poems typical of Puritans? Submit the paragraph on schoology.

Friday: Read Jonathan Edwards' sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God,"  and Cotton Mather's "Wonders of the Invisible World." PDF's are at the top of the page. Then, answer the questions, which are due next school day

Wednesday: Defined Literary Terms on schoology. 

Thursday: We went over the Literary Terms.

Friday: Went over the schedule for next week, and played a game.

Wednesday: Prepare for lit terms test. 

Thursday: Guest speaker Abby England, 3rd hour. 

Friday: Practice lit terms with a partner.

Monday,  practice for lit test.

Tuesday: literature Terms Test. Then, tableau time! In groups of 4 students create a tableau inspired by the unit. 5 extra credit points for the best one.
