Monday, 10/16: Assigned 2 Crash Course in American History videos by John Green. Videos and the assignment are on schoology. Students must watch both videos and take 10 notes total before their next in-class session, not 10 per video.

Tuesday:  Then, assigned questions on Ben Franklin's Autobiography and Poor Richard's Almanac; questions on schoology; the reading is at the top of this page and on schoology.

Wednesday: Begin watching Franklin film. Students take 30 notes on film (10 per day). Assignment on schoology.

Thursday: Students continue watching and taking notes.

Friday: Complete watching film and taking notes

 

Monday, 10/23: Brief discussion of Ben Franklin and the videos watched last week.  

Tuesday: Assigned Slave Narrative, the Interesting Life of Olaudah Equiano (link above). Assigned questions on schoology

Wednesday: Informal discussion of Olaudah Equiano began reading "Jenisha from Kentucky" from the Atlantic. 

Thursday: w/ a partner, begin answering Phillis Wheatley questions on schoology for "To His Excellency: General George Washington."

Friday: complete the questions from "To His Excellency...".

Monday-Wednesday: No school.

Thursday, 11/2: Formal discussion of answers to Wheatley's questions.

 

Friday: Day 2 of GD on PW; 10 points total. The makeup is on schoology. 

 

Monday, 11/6: Assigned letter inspired by the unit, which is due tomorrow. The assignment and directions are on schoology. 

Tuesday: choose best letter.

 

Wednesday: Take poetry practice test in pairs.

 

Thursday: Complete poetry practice test.

 

Monday, 11/13: Play a review game for extra credit.

 

Tuesday: take Literary Terms test.
