Wednesday, 8/19 : Brief tour of this site.
Thursday: Complete the Essential Questions assignment in Schoology by the next school day. Formed writing groups. Shared Essential Questions answers w/ groups. Then, discussed as a class.
Friday: Turn the Essential Questions answers into paragraphs a.ka. draft an essay inspired by these questions. Your target audience is a prospective future school or scholarship committee. Focus on your positive attributes and bigger goals. You can use contractions and slang in quotation marks. Double-spaced, use a boring 12 pt. font. Due next school day at the start of class. Give it a good title; put your name and hour on it. It's not going to be graded for style, organization, focus, or conventions. Click here for a list of drafting tips.
Monday, 8/24: complete a draft and edit it. (5th hour had a class meeting; so, they're going to finish a draft tomorrow.
Tuesday: peer edit; 5th hour completes a draft.
Wednesday: Publish Personal Vision essay by the start of class. Share part of them out loud.
Thursday: Continue sharing.
Friday: Take a pretest on Native Americans. Plus, learn 10 FACTS, which must be submitted on Schoology.
Monday: 8/31: Continue sharing. Then, discuss NAs.
