A little about me . . . I've been teaching at EHS since the fall of 1994. I have taught many different classes in the English department, but my philosophy and style have remained consistent: involve students, provide opportunities for creativity and self-expression, accept each student's individuality, encourage original thought, emphasize cooperative learning, require goal setting at the beginning of the semester, and focus on reading, writing, speaking and thinking. I don't lecture (much); I don't use power points. Every day is an exercise in doing.

For three decades, students in my classes have been writing letters, journals, poems, essays and papers, creating films and tableau, and engaging in many different forms of graded discussions.
