Monday, May 11: Assigned questions on schoology for "The Metro," "The Red Wheelbarrow," and "Chicago."

Tuesday: Completed questions on 3 modern poems.

Wednesday: Day 1 of the GD on the 3 poems.

Thursday: Added Preacher Don't Send Me by Maya Angelou.

 

Friday: completed questions on "Preacher Don't Send Me."

 

Monday, 5/18, Finished Day 2 of the GD on Modernism and Imagism. Kids who were absent can write a formal paragraph on the theme of "Chicago." The makeup paragraph is due before the next class session. 

Tuesday: Defined Naturalism. Watched "Sleep Forever" and talked about the isms that it represents. 

Nothing Below this line is official.

 

Monday, 5/12: Begin reading "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder. We got to the top of page 45.

Tuesday: Answer the questions on Act I as a class--not in writing. Begin reading Act II; we read up to page 71 of the text. 

Wednesday: Complete reading Act II; discuss the questions. Then, started reading Act III, got to page 98. 

Thursday: Complete reading of Act III.

 

Friday: Complete the 500 word Free Write on Our Town before class on Monday.

 

Monday, 5/19: Discuss the Free Writes. Assigned Final Exam.

 

Final Exam: Students will write a 1-2 page formal essay answering one of the following questions:  

Tuesday: Added Preacher Don't Send Me by Maya Angelou.

 

Thursday: Day 2 of the GD on the 4 modern poems. The makeup is on schoology.

 

 

Tuesday:

Wednesday-Friday: worked on final; 4th hour begin their fishbowls. 

Monday,  Final fishbowls. Essay and poem #4 due at the start of class on Monday.
