Friday: Work on any missing assignments.
Monday, 5/12: Begin reading "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder. We got to the top of page 45.
Tuesday: Answer the questions on Act I as a class--not in writing. Begin reading Act II; we read up to page 71 of the text.
Wednesday: Complete reading Act II; discuss the questions. Then, started reading Act III, got to page 98.
Thursday: Complete reading of Act III.
Friday: Complete the 500 word Free Write on Our Town before class on Monday.
Monday, 5/19: Discuss the Free Writes. Assigned Final Exam.
Final Exam: Students will write a 1-2 page formal essay answering one of the following questions: what skill(s) did you most develop in this class this semester? what did you learn in this class this semester? You can combine them. Then, you will bring your essay to the final and read the essay in the group. Your essay is due before the study session begins on Thursday, May 22. The fishbowls begin during the study session. Half of the grade is the writing; the other half is the fishbowl participation. The final counts for 10% of your semester grade.
Tips: make sure it's formal and MLA style--just like we have done all year. Please do not regurgitate what we already know. In other words, outlining what we did is not the purpose. Don't use AI; your essay will be pasted into an AI detector, and you will receive a zero if it not your work. Use the writing steps I attempted to teach you, and practice reading your essay.
