Tuesday, 1/7: Brief tour of the website. Then, assigned Sci Fi Pre Test on Schoology. Due tomorrow before the beginning of class.

Wednesday: Watch Ariana Grande , David Bowie, and Alabama Shakes sci fi music videos.

 Thursday: Assigned La Voyage Dans La Lune. Watch the film and answer the questions on schoology.

​

Friday: Then, watch Tonight, Tonight and count the allusions.

Monday, 1/13: Informal (no grade) discussion of Essential Questions, Araina Grande, David Bowie, Alabama Shakes, La Voyage Dans La Lune, and the Smashing Pumpkins. ​​​​​​

Tuesday: Assigned, A Martian Odyssey by Stanley G. Weinbaum. The story is to be read by Thursday. If you prefer to have it read to, then check out this version.

Wed: Took Panorama survey and then finished reading story.

​

Thursday: All-class graded discussion on A Martian Odyssey. We will discuss the same questions with every story; they are listed above.

​

Friday: Art day! Students illustrate a scene from "A Martian Odyssey." The illustration must include the title of the story, the writer, and a quote.

​

Tuesday, 1/21: Choose the best art for extra credit and then assigned Frankenstein (selections).  Read half by tomorrow. 

​

Wednesday: complete Frankenstein selections and answer story questions.

​

Thursday: Written quiz on Frankenstein, then informal discussion. Kids that missed the quiz must write a formal paragraph answering one of the study questions for Frankenstein. Submit for the quiz on schoology. 

​

Friday: Game.

Monday, 1/27: Assigned a  Block Letter.  inspired by the unit.

Tuesday: Choose the best letter.

​

Wednesday: Switch Unit.
