Wednesday: Complete 5 Essential survey. 

Thursday: Begin I Poem project. Click here for the directions. 

Friday: Share and choose best "I Poem." 

Monday, January 13: Begin My Life, My Vision, project. FW 1: My Vision, My Life. In this FW imagine your life. Start with the remainder of this year, then keep going. How do you imagine your life, 2, 5, 10, 15, 25, 50 years from now? Consider things like education, career, family. Don't be afraid to dream big, but don't forget to include a plan for how you'll get there. Click here for the My Vision, My Life essay directions. 

Tuesday: Complete a draft of the essay.

Wednesday: Edit the draft.

Thursday: Peer editing of the draft.

Friday: No school due to ice.

Tuesday, January 21: redraft and prepare to publish.

Wed: Begin reading essays aloud. 

Thursday: Continue reading essays aloud. 

Friday: Begin DW 2, Word Garden. Here, students must gain  5 words per week (75 by the end of the year). . Include the word and a definition. Begin Personal Narrative. Click here for the handout. FW 2, Important Personal Experiences. In this FW think about experiences that you have had. What happened? Why is it important? 

Monday, January, 27: Choose a topic for the personal narrative and brainstorm and organize details.

Tuesday: Complete a draft and self edit.

Wednesday: redraft.

Thursday: Peer editing.

Friday: Redraft.

Monday, February 3: Read and choose best personal Narrative. And, completed personal reading schedule for novel of choice.
