Sept. 12 Roundup: Tigers Take 3rd at Bradshaw Invite; Hulme, Hattrup Win in Belleville

Welcome to the mid-September roundup! It’s been a busy few weeks!


The girls’ team is off to a roaring start! Over the weekend the Tigers varsity placed 3rdin the Champions I flight of the Heather Bradshaw Memorial Invitational, defeating New Trier’s 2 team 5-4 in the 3rdplace match.


The JV team also competed, in the Challengers II flight. Facing three varsity teams, the JV Tigers reached the finals before falling 4-5 to Danville. Both teams played well and competed hard all weekend long!


The previous weekend, EHS went north to the New Trier Invite. The team took 10th against some of Chicago’s best competition, defeating Glenbrook South and Maine South.


On Tuesday of this week the Tigers downed Alton 9-0. Conference play continues today as the Tigers travel to O’Fallon to take on the Panthers.


Last weekend several young Tigers excelled at the Belleville Fall Open. Colton Hulme played up and won the Boys’ 16’s division, defeating the no. 1 seed in the quarterfinals and then continuing his winning ways all through the championship. It’s Colton’s sixth title of the year, and first title in the 16’s division. Congratulations Colton!


In the Boys’ 14’s, it was an all-Edwardsville, as Jesse Hattrup defeated Jade Dynamic 6-2, 7-5. It’s Jesse’s 8th title of the summer. Jade defeated the no. 1 seed in order to reach the finals. Way to go boys!


Fall JTT begins this weekend! We’re excited for another great season!
