*Prior to the 2016-17 school year, Illinois had only one flight for high school tennis, and players were awarded 1st-Team All-State and state medals for a 7th place (consolation semis) finish or higher. Starting with the 2016-17 year, Illinois has a flighted 1A and 2A system; under the new system, players must finish 6th place (consolation finals) or higher to earn 1st-Team All State honors and a state medal.
