Tiger Tennis Staff

Our staff is highly-trained in the art of teaching tennis fundamentals while keeping it fun. 

Private lessons are a perfect way to supplement your Tiger Tennis Camps or Edwardsville Tennis Academy Experience w/ any of these coaches. If no contact information is listed beside a coach's name, please email tennisinformation@ecusd7.org.

David Lipe, dlipe@ecusd7.org. Coach Lipe has been an English teacher and the Head Boys and Girls Tennis Coach at EHS since the fall of '94. He played at Granite City HS and at Principia College and SIUE. During his tenure his teams have over 800 wins, 15 top-10 finishes, over 30 Southwestern Conference Championships, and more than 35 Sectional Championships. He founded and continues to direct Tiger Tennis Camps and the Edwardsville Tennis Academy along with numerous tournaments including The Edwardsville Futures. 

Emily Cimarolli, ecimarolli@ecusd7.org. Coach Cimarolli has been an elementary teacher and Assistant Coach at EHS since 2013.  She played high school tennis at Althoff and collegiately at McKendree University. She assists the boys and girls teams, is an Associate Director of Tournament Operations of the Edwardsville Futures, and is an Associate Director of Tiger Tennis Camps, ETA, JTT, and the Edwardsville Futures.  

Kirk Schlueter, kschlueter@ecusd7.org. Coach Schlueter joined our staff in 2017.  He played at EHS and then Truman State University. Kirk assists the boys and girls teams, is an Associate Director of Media Relations of the Edwardsville Futures, and is an Associate Director of Tiger Tennis Camps, ETA, JTT, and the Edwardsville Futures.  

Seth Lipe is a 3-time state tournament qualifier and winner of 3 Southwestern Conference Awards including Most Improved Player (twice) and Sportsmanship Award. He graduated in 2019 and is currently playing at Occidental College in California.

 

Morgan Marshall played varsity tennis all four years and graduated in 2021. She attends Rockhurst University where she is on the tennis team. Morgan has coached for us for 4 years, gives private lessons, & coaches JTT.

Colton Hulme is a two-time state qualifier and was the 2022 co-SWC Player of the Year. He has competed in top tournaments in the Midwest for team, singles and doubles categories. Colton was also named 2020 USTA St. Louis District Boys 16 Sportsmanship Award Winner.

Mike Kathriner is the former head coach at Roxana High School, and has coached tennis in Roxana and Edwardsville for close to a decade, teaching all ages from high school varsity players to true beginners. He helps coach numerous JTT teams, and teaches in Roxana.

​

Zach Plocher is the head girls and boys tennis coach at Roxana High School and the director of the Sami Owsley Memorial Tournament. In addition to being on the court, Zach assists with ETA strength training.

​

Sara Kreutztrager is a graduate of Roxana High School, where she twice won South Central Conference doubles championships, and qualified for State. She played collegiately at Lewis and Clark before finishing her degree at SIUE, and has been teaching since her high school days, both camps & private lessons.

​

Emma Herman graduated from EHS in 2021, having played varsity tennis for four years, and has coached at TTC for several years.

​

Brooke Tweedy is a 2009 graduate of Roxana High School, and played collegiate tennis at University of Illinois-Springfield. She joins the ETA staff for 2022 and coaches JTT.

​

Brooke Zielke attends SIUE and has coached tennis for 3 years at the YMCA and ETA/TTC camps & private lessons. 

​

Hannah Colbert is a 2022 graduate and four-time state qualifier. She will be playing college tennis at Augustana College. She was a member of the championship JTT Missouri Valley Sectional team in 2021. Hannah has coached for us for 3 years and has given private lessons too.

​

Zoe Byron plays varsity tennis and will be a senior, graduating in 2023. She is a consistent tournament & JTT player in the Missouri Valley. Zoe has coached for us for 2 years and has given private lessons too.    

​

Sophie Byron started her EHS varsity Tennis career in the fall of 2021. She is a consistent tournament & JTT player in the Missouri Valley, having qualified for Missouri Valley JTT Sectionals in 2021. Sophie has coached with us for 1 year and has given private lessons too.  

​

Alyssa Wise plays varsity tennis and will graduate in 2024. She won the Southwestern Conference & Sectionals in doubles, qualifying for state in 2021, & is a consistent JTT player. Alyssa has coached with us for 1 year and has given private lessons too.

​

Jace Ackerman is a 2022 graduate of EHS, qualifying for state twice. He has taught at Tiger Tennis Camps for 3 years.

​

Gabriella Hill is an incoming EHS sophomore with one year on the varsity tennis team, winning the Southwestern Conference at 6 singles. She is a consistent tournament & JTT player in the Missouri Valley, having qualified for Missouri Valley JTT Sectionals in 2021.

​

Katie Woods is an incoming EHS freshman highly ranked in St. Louis and the Missouri Valley. She was a member of the championship JTT Missouri Valley Sectional team in 2021. 

​

Schaefer Bates is an incoming EHS freshman who regularly plays St. Louis tournaments & JTT and has qualified for Missouri Valley JTT Sectionals in 2021.

​

Brandon Wong is an incoming EHS freshman who regularly competes in St. Louis tournaments & JTT and has qualified for Missouri Valley JTT Sectionals in 2021.

​

Milo Kathriner is an incoming EHS freshman who regularly competes in St. Louis tournaments & JTT throughout the year.

​

John Almos is an incoming EHS freshman who regularly plays JTT throughout the year.

​

Veda Kommineni is an EHS sophomore. In addition to playing tennis, she also was part of the EHS journalism team that placed 2nd in state in 2021. Support her charitable work at Veda’s Care Closet.

​

Jensen Weedman is an EHS senior who has played tennis for 8 years at the varsity, junior varsity, tournament, and JTT level.
