Trimpe and Marshall Commit to Rockhurst; Katie Woods sees Level 3 Success; Boys Season Starts

Spring is here again, and so is the weekly recap! It’s been awhile, which means we have a lot of ground to cover, so let’s dive right in!

First and foremost, we’re pleased to announce EHS seniors Chloe Trimpe and Morgan Marshall have both committed to play women’s tennis next year at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo.! They’ll both make great Hawks.

Katie Woods continues to build on an excellent winter and early spring. In late March, she reached the quarterfinals at the Evansville Level 3, an awesome result! Katie’s just one of our strong middle/high school contingent who’s been regularly playing over the winter: big shout-outs also go to Dia Kannan, Zoe Byron, Schaefer Bates, Sophie Byron, and Gabriella Hill.

The winter JTT season looked very unorthodox, with several one-night events held over the last few months. ETA fielded two 10u teams, which took 2nd and 3rd place. The 14u teams saw even greater success, with 3 teams entering, and our all-girls team consisting of Katie, Dia, Sophie, and Gabi took 1st! Congratulations to all our athletes!

For spring JTT, ETA will have 5 JTT teams for a total of 35 players, the majority of whom will be our high school girls participating in offseason play. We’re excited to have another great season, and we’re especially excited to have Morgan Marshall join our coaching staff for our 10u team!

Our spring Academy and Tiger Tennis classes look a little different too: this year we’re offering Small Group Lessons with qualified instructors featuring our pros and some of our top high school players. We have 110 kids signed up for what should be a great session! We’re also offering a Flex League for the first time, where families schedule challenge matches on their own convenient time! 63 athletes are participating in this new program.

Finally, but certainly not least, the boys tennis season begins TODAY, Monday April 5. For the first time in more than a year, the EHS boys will be back at it out on the courts! I know I speak for everyone when I say it’s an incredibly exciting time. For all information on the boys season, including a calendar, please go to https://dlipe0.wixsite.com/davelipe/ehs-tennis.
