The girls’ tennis season came to an end this past weekend with another trip to state. The team took 25th overall.
Chloe Koons went 3-2 in singles, advancing to the round of 32 in the main draw, and the fourth round of the back draw. It was the best singles finish by any Edwardsville girl since all-time wins leader Callaghan Adams in 2015, and the best singles finish by a freshman since Adams in 2012. Hannah Colbert and Chloe Trimpe went 1-2 in doubles in the second state appearance for both.
The fall JTT season drew to a close this last weekend. The 12’s team finished first, the 10’s team finished 2nd, and the 18’s team finished 2nd. Congratulations on a great season, kids!
It was a busy October in USTA play. Dia Kannan took 2ndat the Sunset Tennis Smashers Co-Ed Green 10’s singles Oct. 4, won the Boys and Girls 12’s at the Kings Point NET, and took 2ndat the Edwardsville YMCA Smashers Co-Ed Green 10’s singles Oct. 20. Great month, Dia!
Amelia Hill took 2ndin the Edwardsville YMCA Smashers Girls 10’s Orange singles.
William Nativi won the Edwardsville YMCA Smashers Boys 10’s Orange singles.
In the Level 4 Closed District Championship, Colton Hulme took 5thin the Boys 14 Singles after falling to the no. 2 seed and eventual finalist in the main draw. Jade Dynamic made the back draw semifinals, tying for 7th. This past weekend, Colton tied for 7thin the Boys 16 flight.
