What a weekend filled with fun and sun! After two long days, Edwardsville qualified three entries for the 2021 state tournament, with Michael Karibian and Jade Dynamic taking the sectional doubles title, while Jace Ackerman and Adrian Norcio finished third, and Colton Hulme finished third in singles. Ben Blake added a crucial victory in singles on Friday before his career ended against the no. 1 seed from O'Fallon. With 20 overall points, EHS also took home the sectional team title as well, making this the second straight weekend the Tigers took home the top prize. The difference was small, with Edwardsville crowned by only two points over O'Fallon: every boy contributed and mattered a great deal! Our thanks to all the teams for great competition, and to Belleville West for being great hosts. The Tigers travel to Chicago on Wednesday, for the state tournament Thursday-Saturday. Summer JTT started this week, with multiple Tigers teams in play. In addition to giving each week's results, we'll also be trying to highlight each team at some point this summer. First up today is 14u Advanced's defeat of MAC, so great job to Dia, Gabi, Schaefer, Isaac, and Brandon! Everyone on this team has improved so much lately and it was great to see them get to show the results in matchplay! One 12u Green team fell to CCRC, while a second 12u Green team defeated Vetta. Great job everyone! High school play starts this week.
