Universal Tennis Rating (UTR)
What is UTR?
Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is a new tennis rating being used by tennis players the world over, including professionals and top Div. I colleges. The premise of UTR is simple: to assign every player in the world a single rating that can instantly compare them to any other player in the world.

Edwardsville Tennis Academy and Edwardsville High School are proud partners of UTR, and many of our events--including ETA challenge matches--are utilized for a player's UTR.
How Does UTR Work?
All players, regardless of age, skill level, or location, are rated on a scale between 1.00 and 16.50. The higher the rating, the more skilled the player. Players' UTRs move up and down over time based on their results. As a player improves and does better against higher-rated players, their own UTR goes up.

Because of this, UTR is a great way for players to track their own development and improvement.
